Dr Matshidiso Agnes Tisane is currently a Gynaecologist and Obstetrician at Melomed in Tokai. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 2009 at the Medical University of South Africa. In 2019, she completed a Fellowship of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of South Africa (FCOG) SA at the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA). Dr Tisane completed her Masters in Medicine at the University of Stellenbosch in 2019.
Her medical career started as an Intern at Steve Biko Academic hospital in 2010, followed by a Community Service role at Pretoria West hospital in 2012. During 2013, she was a Medical Officer at Odi hospital in Gauteng, before working in the same position at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town. Dr Tisane was promoted to Registrar at Tygerberg Hospital in 2015.
Dr Tisane treats a wide range of gynaecological health issues such as abnormal bleeding, the inability to conceive, recurrent miscarriages and genital tract diseases. She also does screenings for cervical cancer, breast cancer and general screenings to check female reproductive health.
As an Obstetrician, Dr Tisane has a special interest in maternal and fetal care. She has vast experience in delivering babies and assisting women through their pregnancies. She is passionate about helping mothers cope with the pressures of looking after a newborn baby.
Dr Tisane provides fully comprehensive and quality care to patients using a holistic approach. She takes pride in effectively communicating with patients and building relationships with them. She makes an effort to get to know each patient and to thoroughly explain to them what they can expect during diagnosis and treatment.
Dr Tisane is happily married and has two beautiful children. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors and spending quality time with her family.
